FCSD Recognizes Volunteer Parents
The Forrest City School District recently honored some special parents. Faculty and staff members were encouraged to nominate the parent they felt deserved special recognition for going above and beyond while volunteering for the school. The top two parents who received the most nominations were Tony Clinton and Rhonda Miller. Mr. Clinton serves as a regular Watch DOG volunteer (Watch D.O.G. stands for Dads of Great Students) at the Forrest City Junior High School and spends much of his time serving as an adult presence at the Junior High. Mrs. Rhonda Miller is a regular on the campuses of both Lincoln Middle School and the Forrest City High School and assists teachers with campus bulletin boards and many special projects.
The two parents were honored in association with the Parent/Guardian Appreciation Night held during halftime at a Senior High Basketball game in January. Each received a goody basket with items donated from area sponsors including:
Waffle House Ole' Sawmill The Gallery Classic Flowers & Weddings Times Herald Printing and Office Supply Gadberry's KFC Taco Bell Chez Weenie The Antique Rose Sonic Drive In Forrest Donuts
All parents or guardians are encouraged to volunteer at any of the Forrest City School campuses. To make arrangements to volunteer, you may contact the Principal at each school.

FCSD Now Offering Water to StudentsStudents at the Forrest City School District now have another choice when it comes to their beverage selection in the cafeteria. Bottled water began being offered recently...students still have the option to choose between 2% milk, 1% milk, chocolate milk, fruit juice, and now water. There are students who are diabetic, lactose intolerant, etc...and this is another option supplied to meet the needs of the students. To date, the positive response from students has been overwhelming.
